My favourite form field ever

Using a US shopping site recently, I found a truly fantastic title field:

Xobni: sounds fun

Xobni outlook add-in for your inboxI’d love an invite to Xobni - promises to hijack Outlook, for the better… Anyone?

Mobile phone indecisions

I know I don’t need an iPhone, and it’s not right for me.

I do loads of mobile web browsing (using the very lovely Opera Mini), and the connection speeds of Edge aren’t good enough for me.

But I want one.  Oh how much I want one.

What’s odd is how I don’t want any other phone - and to be honest never have done.  There has been functionality I’ve looked forward to in mobiles (vibrating alert, multiple numbers for one contact, iSync compatibility) but I’ve never coveted the device itself before.

So how is it that a manufacturer can get it so right with a phone first time, and what must the UX chaps at Nokia etc be thinking now: “ah, to be fair, we’ve been doing a shite job for years…”?

Diana and her part in my lateness

Woman dies in car accident.

Ten years later, her boyfriend’s father stops the traffic at a court inquest into her death, causing my bus to get stuck in traffic outside the Old Bailey.

Inconsiderate, I call it.
